Jennifer Bishop
Jennifer Bishop first studied Pilates, Kinesiology, and Anatomy at the University of Utah, where she earned her BFA in Dance. While furthering her dance career in NYC, she continued to use Pilates as a form of treating injuries. Jennifer moved
to SF in 2000 and taught Pilates at Body Kinetics until she co-founded POP! in 2002. She is greatful for her mentor, Jean Claude West, who is her Applied Kinesiology guru. She loves teaching Pilates, loves her clients and the studio at POP! Jennifer also dances with Janice Garrett & Dancers.
Jennifer Perfillio
Jennifer Perfilio is a certified Pilates instructor, dancer, mother, and co-founder of POP! She believes the Pilates is a sensitive and individualized exploration through which clients develop an acute sense of their movement potential. Jennifer encourages utilizing this keen awareness to cultivate benefits in all areas of life. She credits
the wonderful four hour natural birth of her sons to the power of such physical
and mental training.
Alisa Dillon-Ogden
Alisa first discovered Pilates while completing a 2-year Certificate in Dance program from the Alvin Ailey School in New York City. Alisa completed the full STOTT PILATES® Certification program with the majority of her training from Instructor Trainers, Ineke Rush and Melissa Condron. Alisa has also enhanced her training and knowledge through the study of anatomy, Pilates for rehabilitation and special populations, and Prenatal and Postpartum fitness. Alisa is currently dancing professionally with a variety of choreographers in the Bay Area and is working on becoming a certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer
Dr. Joanna Fassl
Joanna Fassl graduated magna cum laude from Bucknell University in 1995 with a degree in Performance Arts. Initially certified in Pilates in 1998, she has since obtained certificates from Lizz Roman’s Pilates Rehabilitation and ITT’s Pilates Master Programs. She also performed professionally as a Cirque aerialist from 2002-2007. Joanna has recently earned her doctorate from Life Chiropractic College West, graduating as Class Valedictorian with clinical honors. She is full-body Active Release Technique Certified (www.activerelease.com), preparing for her diplomate certification in Carrick Functional Neurology and has extensively studied Sacro-occipital Technique. She is especially drawn to complex, chronic cases.
Bronwen Healy
Bronwen Healy holds a BA in Dance from the University of Iowa. She has taught Pilates at San Francisco Ballet and The Institute for Health and Healing at California Pacific Medical Center. She has been at POP! since 2003.
Caitlin Kolb
Caitlin first began studying Pilates while an undergraduate at Goucher College in Maryland. After graduating with a BA in Dance and Sociology, she moved from New York to San Francisco and completed the Body Arts and Sciences teacher training program. She enhances her training every year with continuing education in anatomy, rehabilitation and in Pilates for special populations. Caitlin also dances professionally with Robert Moses' Kin.
Shanta Kokatay
Shanta Kokatay began her Pilates training ten years ago while dancing nationally with the Santa Barbara Festival Ballet. She enjoyed the increased strength and sense of balance that Pilates gave her. Shanta earned her bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, and then she received her Pilates certification from Core Dynamics in Santa Fe, New Mexico under the tutelage of Pilates elder Eve Gentry's student Michele Larsson.
She has continued to satisfy her academic interest in mind-body research by pursuing research for the UC Berkeley, UCSB, and UCSF Psychology Departments on the mind-body connection of stress, cognition and illness. She is currently working on her Ph.D in Natural Health. For the past six years Shanta has been teaching Pilates in the Bay Area and in Santa Barbara.
