Jennifer Bishop
Jennifer Bishop first studied Pilates, Kinesiology, and Anatomy at the University of Utah, where she earned her BFA in Dance. While furthering her dance career in NYC, she continued to use Pilates as a form of treating injuries. Jennifer moved
to SF in 2000 and taught Pilates at Body Kinetics until she co-founded POP! in 2002. She loves teaching Pilates, loves her clients and the studio at POP! Jennifer also dances with Janice Garrett & Dancers.
Jennifer Perfillio
Jennifer Perfilio is a certified Pilates instructor, dancer, mother, and co-founder of POP! She believes the Pilates is a sensitive and individualized exploration through which clients develop an acute sense of their movement potential. Jennifer encourages utilizing this keen awareness to cultivate benefits in all areas of life. She credits
the wonderful four hour natural birth of her son to the power of such physical
and mental training.
Katie Aggen
Katie Aggen has taught Pilates in both San Francisco at Body Kinetics, POP! and Studio 4 Pilates, and in New York at NYC Pilates Gym, Body Evolution and DNA.
In addition to teaching Katie is a modern dancer. She’s danced with Company Chaddick, EmSpace, Strong Current, Randy James Dance Works, Jana Hicks’ TNSP, Isabel Gotzkowsky & Friends and currently Stacey Printz.
Andrea Anderson
Andrea Anderson has a BFA in Dance from UNC-Greensboro and incorporates her experience with cycling and rock climbing as well as massage therapy and
pre-natal Pilates into her teaching. She has been at POP! since 2004, and also teaches at the San Francisco Ballet, and performs with Maxine Moerman Dancetheatre.
Joanna Fassl
Joanna Fassl earned her BA in Theatre & Music from Bucknell University. Since her initial certification in 1998, she has since obtained certificates from Lizz Roman’s Rehabilitation and ITT’s Master Programs. A professional cirque aerialist for 6 years, she has switched gears and is currently attending Chiropractic College.
Bronwen Healy
Bronwen Healy holds a BA in Dance from the University of Iowa. She has taught Pilates at San Francisco Ballet and The Institute for Health and Healing at CPMC. She has been at POP! since 2003.
Julie Sheetz
Julie Sheetz was first introduced to Pilates while rehabilitating a shoulder injury in 2002. Since certification she has worked with students of all ages and mixed abilities, spanning a wide range including basic biomechanical function, pre & postnatal health, and sport-specific activities. She also holds an M.S. in Geography and can be seen dancing professionally on both coasts.
Most instructors were certified through the Body Kinetics Pilates Teacher Training directed by Carol Appel, a Pliates Method Alliance Gold-Certified Teacher.
In 1982 Carol began apprenticing under Romana Kryzanowska, a master teacher personally trained by Joseph Pilates and continued as a teacher there for five years.
Her teacher training program is well-established in the Bay Area and is a source for instructors national and internationally. She has worked in conjunction with doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors to develop rehabilitation exercise programs.
